Before I had the front cover, the hungry tomcat pushed past the cat and she let him eat. She also remained sitting right next to it so that the flap didn't close. The front cover means the cat can no longer squeeze past and if he does manage to do so, the flap still closes. So it was created exactly for that. If I hadn't found the front cover here, I would have sent the Surefeed back because it was useless. The front cover is well made (despite 2nd choice) and fits perfectly. Thanks
